SpotiLarp

A lightweight Spotify player for low-end PCs, built in Rust with Tauri and SvelteKit.

SpotiLarp is a desktop music player for Spotify, made for computers where the official app is too heavy. I built it to use as little memory as possible while still doing what I need: my library, playback, synced lyrics, and showing what I'm listening to on Discord.

How it's built

  • Rust and Tauri for the desktop app, with a SvelteKit interface.
  • Playback through librespot, an open-source Spotify library.
  • Lyrics from LRCLIB, loaded only while the lyrics view is open.
  • Logins are kept in the operating system's secure credential store, and logging out deletes them.
  • It also plays local music files (MP3, FLAC, M4A, OGG, WAV).

It's an early version with a Windows installer, and the code is open source on GitHub under the MIT license.

SpotiLarp is an unofficial project and isn't affiliated with Spotify. It needs a Spotify Premium account, and it doesn't block ads or download music.
