Everything I know about making things, I taught myself. Animation started with Source Filmmaker when I was eight. Programming started with Roblox. Nobody showed me how a real team works, how a client project goes from a brief to a finished product, or how other people solve the problems I usually solve alone at 2 a.m.
That's the first reason I'm applying for the Erasmus+ internship in Barcelos: twelve days in a real working environment, building websites with WordPress alongside people who do it professionally.
The second reason is English. I talk to my animation clients in English every week, but always through a screen. I want to use it face to face, in a country with a different rhythm, a different language, and different food.
The third reason is the long run. I want to make games, animate, and write software. All of that ends up on the web eventually: portfolios, devlogs, stores, documentation. Learning to build websites properly is the piece I'm missing.
If I'm selected, I'll bring it back three ways: a presentation at school, a hands-on WordPress workshop for my classmates, and an animated video recap of the two weeks. This blog will be the diary in between.
